Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Litigation Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and other legal proceedings. This role requires strong organizational skills, a solid understanding of legal terminology, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. The Litigation Paralegal will play a crucial role in ensuring that all documentation is accurate and timely, contributing to the overall success of our legal practice.
Duties
- Assist the attorney in the preparation of cases for trial, including drafting pleadings and motions.
- Conduct thorough legal research on relevant laws and regulations, particularly in areas such as workers' compensation law and family law.
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are filed appropriately within Filevine.
- Manage project timelines and deadlines to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of case-related information.
- Coordinate with clients, witnesses, and experts as necessary to gather information pertinent to cases.
- Prepare trial exhibits and assist attorneys during trials by managing evidence and documentation.
- Provide administrative support including scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, and handling correspondence.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a paralegal or in a similar legal administrative role.
- Strong knowledge of litigation processes and legal terminology.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong research skills with attention to detail in data entry tasks.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
