As the Activities Director at Neenah High School, your duties include overseeing co-curricular programs, fostering student engagement, and ensuring the smooth operation of athletic and co-curricular activities. Below is a list of significant responsibilities typically associated with this role:
1. Program Oversight
Athletics Management: Oversee 6-12 athletic programs, including scheduling, facility use, and equipment procurement.
Clubs & Organizations: Supervise student clubs, organizations, and performing arts groups to ensure they align with school values.
Event Planning: Coordinate school-wide events such as homecoming, pep rallies, team banquets, and awards ceremonies.
2. Administrative Duties
Budgeting: Manage budgets for athletics and activities, including fundraising efforts and allocations. Approves the payment of all salaries for game workers, officials, coaches (7-12), advisors, and all other athletic workers. Manage online ticket sales for all events at the High School.
Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with school, district, state, and WIAA regulations.
Communication: Act as a liaison between students, parents, coaches, advisors, and the administration.
Athletic Conference: Represent Neenah High School Athletics at Fox Valley Association meetings
3. Staff Supervision
Coach and Advisor Hiring: Recruit and mentor coaches and club advisors.
Professional Development: Organize training opportunities for staff to ensure they meet educational and coaching standards.
Evaluation: Assess performance and provide feedback to improve program quality.
4. Student Engagement
Leadership Development: Promote leadership opportunities through student government and other roles.
Inclusivity: Ensure diverse programs that appeal to all student demographics.
Conflict Resolution: Mediate disputes involving students, staff, or parents related to co-curricular activities.
5. Facilities and Logistics
Facility Scheduling: Coordinate the use of school facilities for practices, games, performances, meetings, and events, which include after-school hours at Neenah High School and Neenah Middle School.
Neenah Middle School Pool: Recruit, hire, and mentor a pool manager
High School Concession: Recruit, hire, and mentor a Concession Stand coordinator for all High School Concession stands
Maintenance: Work with maintenance staff to ensure facilities are safe and well-kept.
Transportation: Arrange for transportation to all activities to off-site events.
6. Community Relations
Public Relations: Represent the school at community events and ensure a positive image for the school’s extracurricular programs.
Parent Communication: Maintain open communication with parents regarding programs, schedules, and student opportunities.
Partnerships: Collaborate with local businesses and organizations for sponsorships or community engagement.
7. Safety and Risk Management
Emergency Plans: Develop and implement safety protocols for all events and activities.
Health and Wellness: Ensure student-athletes meet physical and mental health requirements, including concussion protocols and fitness assessments.
Theda Care Athletic Trainers: Work with trainers, coaches, and athletes to ensure proper training and treatment for injuries and ailments.
