JOB GOAL: The Director of Human Resources plans, organizes, administers, and coordinates the human resources processes in the school district to maximize the educational opportunities and benefits available to each child.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Director of Human Resources - Job Description
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Determine current and future personnel needs in consultation with the building administrators.
Recruit, interview, hire, orient, and coordinate pre-employment procedures for employees from all employment groups.
Coordinate all pre-employment procedures, including criminal background checks, reference checks, physical/health requirement tests, WI DPI licensing justifications and endorsements, etc.
Interview and identify substitute teachers.
Coordinate the evaluation process of teachers, aides, and administrative assistants.
Assist in the evaluation of employees as needed.
Assist in the collective bargaining process for appropriate employee groups.
Maintain and update all handbooks and employment contracts.
Review and suggest updates on School Board policies related to HR/Personnel issues.
Assist principals and supervisors in handling employee performance issues, including improvement plans, discipline, and termination.
Investigate and/or assist in investigating alleged misconduct charges against staff.
Manage employee leaves of absence, including approving FMLA absences.
Assist business office personnel with benefits administration and communications of benefit
programs (including benefits open enrollment).
Prepare budgets and staffing FTE plans for all areas of responsibility.
Prepare personnel reports for the School Board.
Manage/Assist the District worker's compensation process with the Director of Business Services.
Supervise and evaluate the HR Specialist.
Assume other duties as assigned by the District Administrator.
