REPORTS TO: School Principal
JOB CATEGORY: Support
FLSA STATUS/SHIFT: Nonexempt/First Shift
SUMMARY: The Clerical Education Support Professional supports the needs of the school by providing administrative support to the principal, instructional staff and administrative staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Education:
a. Required – At least two years of higher education equivalent to at least 48 semester hours from an accredited higher education institution; or obtained an associate (or higher) degree in a related field. Or proof of passing the Workkeys*

b. Preferred – Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
2. Experience:
a. Required – One year of current work experience with school-aged children and/or young adults.
b. Required - One year of current work experience in an office environment.
c. Preferred – Two or more years of current work experience with school-aged children and/or young adults.
d. Preferred – Two or more years of work experience in an office environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supports the clerical needs of the school by providing assistance to the principal, instructional staff, support staff, and secretaries.
2. Performs general office assistance including, but not limited to, answering telephones; greeting visitors; performing attendance activities; sorting and
distributing mail; responding to or referring inquiries/complaints; typing and distributing correspondence, bulletins, and a variety of other documents.
3. Prepares and maintains files and other records, as directed.
4. Orders and distributes bus passes and lunch tickets, as needed.
5. Maintains confidentiality of student information and fellow employee information.
6. Participates in staff development sessions for educational support personnel.
7. Completes other duties as assigned.
SKILLS:
1. Knowledge of business English, spelling, and mathematics.
2. General working knowledge of standard office equipment.
3. Knowledge of appropriate handling of/contact with blood borne pathogens.
4. English-Spanish bilingual preferred.
INTERPERSONAL:
1. Dedication to the mission, vision, core values and strategic goals of Kenosha Unified School District.
2. Possession of sensitivity to cultural diversity and acceptance of all students.
3. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to move objects weighing up to 25 pounds about the office on a constant basis; ability to move objects weighing up to 50 pounds about the office on an occasional basis; ability to constantly position self throughout the work day at heights up to 5 feet using varied methods; ability to remain in a stationary position for periods of up to 3 hours; ability to communicate with and exchange accurate information with students, coworkers, parents, and the public.
