The Title I Aide will support elementary school staff and students by addressing social and academic needs and assisting with daily classroom and school tasks. This role is essential in creating a supportive, inclusive, and effective learning environment. The aide must be flexible, enjoy working with children, and maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
Provide direct support to students with social and academic needs by implementing strategies to promote positive behavior and engagement in learning.
Assist teachers in managing classroom activities, including preparing materials, organizing resources, and maintaining a positive and orderly environment.
Supervise students in various settings, such as classrooms, hallways, playgrounds, and during transitions, ensuring safety and adherence to school rules.
Work with small groups or individual students to reinforce academic skills, social development, and appropriate behavior.
Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to implement behavior intervention plans and support individual student needs.
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to staff as needed.
Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students, respecting diverse needs and backgrounds.
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student information, school records, and staff discussions.
Adapt to a variety of situations and changes in schedule or duties as needed.
Maintain the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of student information as is expected of a licensed teacher and employee of the Waterford Graded School District.
Participate in inservice training programs as assigned.
Other duties as assigned by the building principal, or District Administrator.

- High School Diploma; university/college training preferred.
2 years of study at an accredited institution of higher education that is equivalent to 48 semester hours OR obtained an associate’s (or higher) degree or completed the Master Educator Courses.
U.S. citizen or alien with employment eligibility.
3-5 years experience working with children.
Ability to perform the job responsibilities in an effective manner.
Ability to work cooperatively with adults and in an encouraging manner with students.
