Description
POSITION: PK-6 ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL Forest Lane Community School
QUALIFICATIONS:
Current valid Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction administrative certification in the respective classification. (DPI Code 51 – Principal)
Minimum of 2 years successful experience as a teacher and demonstrated educational leadership.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establishes and maintains a dynamic learning climate in the school.07/01/202308
Establish positive relationships with students, staff, parents and community.
Stays current in educational research and disseminates relevant research information to staff.
Administers employee performance evaluation/growth processes for professional and support staff in accordance with board policy, state law, and district procedures.
Follows district hiring processes and hires outstanding staff who are committed to the learning of every student.
Follows district procedures for induction of new professional and support staff and provides site-based induction.
Promotes recognition of staff and student achievement.
Promotes employee wellness and assists the wellness committee in its efforts.
Maintains high standards of student conduct and enforces discipline as necessary, observing due process for the rights of students and following established guidelines.
Coordinates and manages general school operations such as building schedules and staff assignments.
Evaluate building-level curriculum, assessment and instruction processes.
Establishes and maintains school-based improvement plans and related professional development plans.
Conducts program evaluations to determine programs’ value in furthering district mission and vision.
Administers a system of accounting for all monies in accordance with the central office plan of accounts under the supervision of the business services director.
Develops and recommends the building budget and keeps business records and executes business forms as required.
Aligns budget, in coordination with staff, to district and school goals and initiatives.
Assures an ongoing process of data collection to gain information that assists the board of education in determining the future needs of students.
Involves the staff, students, and community in continuously improving the strategic planning processes of the school.
Assigns duties to staff members as prescribed by general policies and regulations.
Supervises school activities and students at and away from school.
Makes regular inspections of the school sites and buildings and reports safety and other concerns to appropriate personnel.
Attends school sponsored activities and functions.
Assumes responsibility for all official school correspondence, news releases, and publications.
Serves on committees and attends meetings as directed by the superintendent or executive director of administration.
Handles, investigates, and remedies legitimate complaints and refers to the superintendent those cases which the principal cannot resolve.
Delegates responsibility for the school during the absence of the principal.
Collaborates with other district- and school-level administrators and leaders to improve systems and procedures.
Develop capacity among all staff through a model of shared and distributed leadership.
Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the superintendent/designee.

SUPERVISES: All staff assigned to the school
