SUMMARY: To provide secretarial support to the Principal and perform various tasks related to the efficient operation of the school.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES may include, but are not limited to:
- Update student rosters and run reports in the online platform Infinite Campus
- Coordinate volunteers for initiatives with our community partners
- Order and confirm field trip details including but not limited to ticket purchasing and transportation
- Serve as a receptionist for the school.
- Prepare and mail principal correspondence as well as voice messages to families.
- Maintain school enrollment, membership and attendance, Free and Reduced Lunch data.
- Prepare monthly census reports.
- Process purchase requisitions.
- Assist with building budget maintenance.
- Manage fee collections.
- Organize and maintain filing system.
- Assist with state reports as assigned.
- Prepare newsletters, process daily mail and assist in processing of mass mailing.
- Collate and process faculty and student handbook.
- Coordinate and assign substitutes in Aesop/Frontline.
- Coordinate special projects.
- Assist in the Health Room when it may be needed.
- Coordinate school pictures and yearbook.
- Maintain building inventory.
- Maintain office equipment, and order supplies.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High school or equivalent education.
- Successful experience in similar positions.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to empathize and find common ground for the good of the organization.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Evidence of outstanding organizational abilities; ability to handle multiple responsibilities.
- Ability to work as a successful team member with co-workers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; ability to effectively learn and work with school-centered software (relational database) applications.
- Should have a history of confidentiality, stability, neatness, punctuality, loyalty, ethical consciousness, organization skills, and flexibility.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, federal, state, and/or DPI regulations, handbooks, computer and other manuals, budget reports and statistical data.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
- Ability to interpret and communicate reports, procedures, and computer applications to faculty, staff, and students.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to add, sub-tract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to statistically manipulate numbers; make advanced mathematical calculations; check for accuracy.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and effectively solve problems.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions with several abstract and concrete variables.
