Full Time
We are seeking an experienced full-time Facilities Maintenance Assistant to work at our North Campus, home to Cross Trainers Academy, our K4-12th grade Christian school. This position performs repair and general maintenance of facilities, grounds, and equipment, as well as some custodial duties to provide a clean, orderly, and safe environment for staff, guests, students and visitors.
Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:00pm
Location:: North Campus – 1530 W Center Street, Milwaukee, WI 53206
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform repair or general maintenance work, including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, masonry, and painting
- Moving and assisting in transportation of furniture and equipment
- Maintain the grounds, including yard work (utilizing all lawn/ground equipment, including power movers) and snow/ice removal (plowing, snow blowing, shoveling)
- Event setup and tear-down
- Maintain cleanliness (sweep, mop, remove trash, sanitize) and appropriate supplies in offices, chapel, program spaces, classrooms, restrooms, locker rooms, and other common areas
- Perform other tasks as needed
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Two or more years previous building maintenance experience required
- Working knowledge of basic maintenance and custodial equipment and supplies, including buffers, scrubbers, carpet extractors, pressure washers, snow blowers, lawn equipment, various hand and power tools
- Must be able to handle physical workload – capable of continuously standing, walking, stair climbing, reaching, handling and gripping without difficulty, repetitive movement of both hands and arms, as well as frequent lifting and moving items with a maximum weight of 80lbs a short distance, and pushing or pulling heavier items with the use of a cart or dolly
- Must be able to work independently, effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with staff, contractors, students, visitors and peers
- A valid driver's license and good driving record is preferred, but not required
- Reliability, dependability, and punctuality are expected
- A workplace demeanor consistent with a Christian church environment: civil, respectful, polite, and responsive
- Be in agreement with and subscribe to the MRM Statement of Faith and the MRM Statement of Biblical Convictions
- Be a committed follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, which is evident in personal testimony and Christian conduct
- Pass a pre-employment background check and drug test
- Hiring range $21.15-$22.32 based on candidate qualifications and experience
