Your day-to-day:
- Leading the Bakery Team and writing their weekly schedules
- Baking and preparing Bakery products, while safely operating equipment
- Exam cases and prepare production list, based on day of the week, being mindful of sale items
- Maintaining, filling and rotating products in the Bakery Department
- Moving Bakery ingredients and items from cooler to the production area
- Providing excellent customer service by greeting customers and responding to questions
- Dismantle equipment for cleaning and reassemble for production
- Training other team members, as needed
- Adhere to all health, sanitation and safety regulations
- Review daily sales
- Product knowledge, Ordering Products, and being able to set retail pricing
- Identify and develop new products and trends
- Merchandising of product through signs, packaging, show & sell\
- Meeting gross profit, labor, expense goals
- Assist in other duties, as assigned
- 18 years of age or older
- Safely use/operate knives, wrappers, ovens, slicers, and all other bakery equipment
- HS Diploma plus 5-10 years of experience; Associates Degree preferred.
- 5 years of direct bakery operation and production experience through all seasons and holidays
- Has experience creating and managing production estimates in a high volume bakery.
- Has experience maximizing freshness by managing on-hand inventory, date control, and rotation
- Has experience producing with industrial capacity equipment in a scratch bakery environment
- Hands on experience in multiple sales departments with a particular emphasis on perishable areas.
- Can use the roundup to identify sale opportunities, create estimates, and use the piggy bank for labor scheduling
- Has experience writing POs, creating intra-store transfers, taking a physical inventory, and auditing the PO register
- Has experience managing vendor relationships to balance cost, quality, and availability
- Has experience training new team members on all areas of bakery operation
- Management or supervisory experience necessary
- Above average math and computer skills
- Great negotiating and purchasing skills
- Merchandising ability
- Ability to delegate, prioritize and juggle many tasks
- Great communication skills
- Organizational skills
- Time split between office work and in production area.
- Temperature is colder than room temperature due to product being highly perishable.
- standing, walking and lifting.
- The position requires frequent walking, standing, lifting, pushing and pulling with a maximum of 100lbs and occasionally climbing and reaching.
