Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate all shipping operations, ensuring orders are processed efficiently and accurately.
- Supervise and train shipping staff, providing guidance on best practices, safety procedures, and efficiency improvements.
- Ensure that all shipments meet customer specifications and deadlines, working closely with production, sales, and inventory teams.
- Manage the preparation of shipping documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, and shipping labels.
- Perform regular inspections of packaging and labeling to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and maintain shipping schedules, ensuring timely dispatch of all orders.
- Coordinate with freight carriers to arrange shipments, track deliveries, and resolve any issues related to damaged or delayed goods.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels and report discrepancies to the appropriate teams.
- Implement and maintain shipping best practices and continuously improve shipping processes.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and guidelines within the shipping department.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in shipping and logistics, preferably in a manufacturing or steel machining environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of shipping software, inventory management systems, and basic warehouse operations.
- Ability to interpret shipping specifications and documentation accurately.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and organizational skills.
- Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment is a plus.
