Job Knowledge
- Interpret blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine the sequence of operations and setup requirements.
- Experience with fencing and miscellaneous metals product offering. Reads and comprehends shop drawings.
- Measure and mark dimensions and reference lines on metal sheets, plates, tubes, or structural shapes.
- Set up and operate fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, and drill presses.
- Design and construct templates and fixtures, or modify existing templates and fixtures to achieve desired results.
- Cut, bend, roll, press, or otherwise form and assemble metal components to fabricate parts using hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery.
- Weld, bolt, rivet, or otherwise join metal parts together to create final products or sub-assemblies.
- Perform finishing operations such as grinding, polishing, and painting to improve the appearance and protect the surface of the fabricated parts.
- Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent injuries and accidents
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5 years of experience
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
- Proficient with metal fabrication tools
- Skilled in various fabrication techniques such as welding, cutting, bending, and shaping
