What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kitchen Sanitation position at Stewart's Shops?
The Kitchen in our Manufacturing Plant in Saratoga Springs is looking for partners to join our overnight shift sanitation team! This team ensures the equipment and rooms are clean, meet the standards of food safety and state regulations, and are ready for production. This position is ideal for a self-motivated person with great attention to detail, enjoys cleaning, and working in a team environment.
Duties:
• Ensure the plant meets or exceeds mandatory sanitation requirements for machinery, equipment, and facilities.
• Rinse, clean, scrub, and sanitize all the equipment in the kitchen such as tables, dishes, utensils, carts, walls, floors, drains, and trash cans.
• Take direction from Sanitation Supervisor to resolve sanitation-related issues.
• Actively participate as a member on assigned teams.
• Carry out tasks in accordance with Stewart’s policies, OSHA regulations, and USDA and FDA regulations.
• Take direction from Sanitation Supervisor to resolve sanitation-related issues.
Requirements:
• Dependable with a team player attitude.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while being safety conscious.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift in a wet environment for several consecutive hours.
• Ability to work in an environment with a variety of temperatures and a moderate to loud noise level.
• Appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment while handling various chemicals including safety glasses, gloves, rubber boots, hearing protection, and aprons required.
• Must adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices including wearing a company issued uniform, a hairnet, beard net, no jewelry, and no excessive makeup.
• Prior relevant experience working in an industrial kitchen, restaurant, warehouse, or similar environment preferred, but not required.
• Familiarity with sanitation standards and good manufacturing practices as they pertain to food production equipment a plus.
Schedule:
• Full time positions available.
• Shift start time is typically between 6-8pm.
• Schedule includes some weekends and holidays.
• Total pay including differentials is $24/hour.
• Earn an extra $1 for all hours worked on Sundays.
