STgenetics has an immediate opening for a Fixed Assets Analyst. The Fixed Assets Analyst will provide end-to-end accounting services in compliance with the globally established policies and standard procedures in collaboration with our financial leadership. The Analyst is also accountable for planning capital projects, analyzing and valuing construction in progress, recording the cost of newly acquired fixed assets (tangible, intangible, leases), tracking existing fixed assets, recording depreciation, amortization, impairments and accounting for the disposition of fixed assets. This position will be based in Navasota, Texas
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Create and monitor a system of controls, procedures, and forms for the recordation of fixed assets for global and domestic operations.
- Track US GAAP, IFRS, US TAX and local statutory valuation and depreciation of fixed assets.
- Recommend management any updates to accounting policies related to fixed assets.
- Track and reconcile fixed assets and perform annual audits of biological and personal property and equipment for the parent company and consolidated subsidiaries.
- Review and code invoices that will be Capitalized as a Fixed Asset or Project according to the correct financial dimensions.
- Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system monthly and ensure that assets under construction are capitalized on a timely basis to appropriate and defined “Units of Accounting”.
- Ensure tangible, biological, and intangible assets depreciated and/or amortized with parent company policy.
- Investigate the potential impairment or obsolescence of fixed and intangible assets on a quarterly basis.
- Represent the company during any audits by government or regulatory agencies, or lenders, that involve fixed asset verification, valuation, depreciation, or amortization.
- Prepare materials for and manage the Investment Review Team. Track company budgets and expenditures for fixed assets in comparison to the capital budget and management authorizations.
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS
- BA or BS in Accounting.
- CPA, CMA, CA or equivalent is a plus.
- Experience with Oracle Fixed assets preferred.
- Experience in a relevant professional services firm and/or Shared Service Center is preferred.
- Solid understanding of GAAP, IFRS and general accounting principles.
- Ability to resolve complex issues with incomplete data and information.
- Ability to present detailed and complicated reporting and planning metrics in a clear, concise, complete, and actionable manner.
- Ability to multitask, identify issues proactively any manage changing priorities.
- Advanced Excel skills with advanced knowledge of functions, pivot tables, visual presentations etc
