Responsible for managing onsite catering events.
The Catering Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of catering services within the community. This includes planning, organizing, and executing events, ensuring top-quality food and service, and providing exceptional customer service to hosts, attendees, staff and vendors. This position liaisons with multiple departments to plan, collaborate, and deliver exceptional culinary experiences for various occasions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage catering events for residents and special community functions.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all catering-related inquiries, providing personalized recommendations and event solutions.
- Directly supervises catering operations including such duties as coordination of staff and rental equipment, set-up, preparation, service, and breakdown of catered foods, beverages, and events of varying size and complexity.
- Manage catering invoices in company software systems.
- Manage room reservation software and coordinate logistics such as setups, staging, turning over of event space.
- Participates in all catering training programs; helps to develop and implement training programs for hourly, part-time, and student employees.
- Develop and maintain event schedules, menu planning, and staffing requirements.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create customized menu options that align with the community’s standards and resident preferences.
- Ensure all events are executed seamlessly, from setup to cleanup, while maintaining the highest standards of service.
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
- Oversee event budgets, ensuring financial goals are met.
- Handle event logistics, including staffing, equipment, and special requests.
- Provide post-event feedback and follow-up to ensure satisfaction and gather insights for future improvements.
Ideal candidate must have a minimum of two years of catering experience. A bachelor’s degree in food service or hospitality is preferred.
