Job title : Special Ed Paraprofessional - Stonebridge Elementary
Job Summary : Special Education Paraprofessional will provide instructional and behavioral support for students with significant behavioral needs. This position involves working with special education students who need encouragement and instruction to help manage their emotions. Candidate experience in elementary setting strongly preferred. Emphasis on quality relationships with students and colleagues. Relational greatness with students and adults is required. Willingness to calmly work in a setting that can be highly emotional. Successful candidate will also have lunch and recess supervision duties.
Requirements : In order to work as a Special Education Paraprofessional, you must meet the state requirement of being Highly Qualifed prior to your start date. To be considered Highly Qualifed, you must have ONE of the following; a Bachelor's Degree or an Associates Degree, or 60 hours of post-secondary education, or a Passing Score on the ParaPro Exam. Please be prepared to submit documentation in support of your qualifications. (Acceptable documentation includes transcripts from the college or a copy of the ParaPro Exam report.)
Important Update :
We can offer a strictly limited 10-day grace period to submit the necessary documents or pass the ParaPro Exam. Stillwater Area Public Schools will pay for you to take the ParaPro Test if you take it through the Harmony Learning Center. However, if you are unable to furnish highly qualified documents or unable to pass the test within the 10-day period, your employment with Stillwater Area Public Schools will be terminated. You are welcome to re-apply once you have passed the test.
