JOB SUMMARY : Responsible for the direction and leadership of operational, financial, programmatic and personnel activities of the Pharmacy Department to insure the efficient, effective, and quality delivery of inpatient and outpatient services for all locations. Leads the assessment, development and implementation of automation and informatics technologies to advance the organization’s delivery of pharmaceutical care. The director may perform the same duties as a staff pharmacist regarding compounding and filling drug orders. Previous experience in hospital pharmacy is desirable, but not mandatory. QUALIFICATIONS :
Graduate of school or college of pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education.
Minimum five (5) years of health-system pharmacy leadership and management experience.
Current license to practice in Oklahoma, only if dispensing medications.
Maintenance of license through approved continuing education courses
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Able to talk and converse distinctly with others in person and over the phone.
Able to walk / stand for extended periods, some lifting. Able to reach, pull, push, bend, stoop, and kneel.
Demonstrates adequate vision, or correctable with glasses / contacts, to read / write, discern small objects, to accurately fill medication orders.
Must have adequate perception of sounds or adequate hearing with corrections.
Must have strength / stamina to deal with stressful situations.
Adequate fine motor skills and hand / eye coordination to type and accurately fill medication orders.
Adequate vision, or correctable with glasses / contacts, to prepare reports and read written materials.
Vision must be corrected to enable reading of test results in a clear and concise manner. Color blindness would be evaluated as to degree of inhibition in performing tests assigned.
