Details:

Full-time, 40 hours per week
-
Mornings desired: 6:00a-2:30p (but will flex if needed)

Weekends on rotation
-
Holidays on rotation
-
Free meal with every shift

Cooking experience at a restaurant or similiar is required
The cook works as a team member of the Nutrition Services at Stillwater Medical Center through prepping, producing, and cooking top quality foods for room-service, mobile-meals, and cafeteria while following the highest food safety and sanitation protocols. Ensures the safe and efficient use of all department resources and recommends improvements to services provided while working in partnership with the assigned staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma/GED preferred. Culinary Certification or education in a related field preferred.

At least one year of cooking experience in food service.

Knowledge of food safety and cooking techniques required. Cost control and inventory experience preferred.

Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain professional composure in high pressure situations.

Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
-
Able to work in a latex burdened environment.

Able to lift cases of groceries and containers of food that could weigh up to 50 lbs.

Able to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time with extensive bending and reaching.

Ability to speak clearly and distinctly.

Able to utilize telephone for communication.
-
Demonstrates adequate vision, or correctable with glasses/contacts, to read and prepare documents and labels, and give appropriate portion control.

Must have adequate perception of sounds or adequate hearing with corrections.
