The base salary range for this position is between $60,000-$75,000 per year, depending on location, relevant skills, and years of experience.


Scope

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving new business growth and revenue through building business relationships in targeted markets. This position is also responsible for managing and growing relationships with existing clients. This position will serve as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring excellent customer service and maintaining high levels of client satisfaction.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  1. Contributes to the power of potential in people by exemplifying the Redwood Tree Culture and embedding it throughout the organization.
  2. Identifies and prospects new business opportunities, using a consultative approach..
  3. Develops and implements effective sales strategies and plans to achieve sales targets and increase market share that aligns with organizational revenue, sales, and performance goals.
  4. Conducts market research to identify industry trends, customer needs, and competitor activities.
  5. Develops new business by building business relationships with decision makers and driving outside sales.
  6. Builds and maintains strong relationships with new and existing clients, serving as the main point of contact for all client-related inquiries and requests.
  7. Identifies and pursues opportunities to expand business with existing clients by upselling and cross-selling additional services.
  8. Proactively engages with clients to identify potential issues, address concerns, and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
  9. Collaborates with internal teams, including recruitment, operations, and finance, to ensure smooth service delivery and timely resolution of client-related issues.
  10. Prepares and delivers sales presentations to existing and potential clients, showcasing the value and benefits we deliver.
  11. Negotiates and closes sales deals, including contracts and pricing agreements, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  12. Prepares and presents candidate profiles to hiring managers for review.
  13. Places candidates within the system prior to start date, and sends first day information.
  14. Provides ongoing support to the candidate once placed, including addressing talent performance issues, payroll, and benefits.
  15. Identifies and pursues opportunities to upsell and cross-sell additional services.
  16. Monitors and reports on client performance and takes corrective action as needed.
  17. Adheres to and follows all company Policies, organizational competencies, processes, procedures, and guidelines.
  18. Supports the Workers Compensation Claims process.
  19. Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  1. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
  2. The person in this position needs to move about both inside an office and at other locations where meetings may be conducted.
  3. Frequently operates a computer for extended periods of time.
  4. Frequently communicates with others over the phone, video and in person; must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  5. Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.

Work Schedule

Full-time; 52 weeks per year. In addition to regular business hours, the person in this position must be able to be flexible around the needs of the organization.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to speak clearly and persuasively in both positive and negative situations.
  2. Ability to prioritize and plan work activities, strong time management skills, and developing realistic action plans.
  3. Proven ability to work effectively with personnel at all levels of an organization, including c-suite level executives.
  4. Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  5. Drive to succeed revenue and gross margin production goals.
  6. Proven success at working well in teams and independently.


Minimum Qualifications

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent
  2. Two (2) years or more experience of proven sales/account management success and/or customer service experience in a consultative and professional services environment.
  3. Valid drivers license and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Degree in business or other related field
  2. Previous experience selling in the staffing industry
  3. Google Suite experience
  4. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, and other HR software.
