A leading e-commerce business based in Twinsburg, OH, is seeking a skilled Controller to join their dynamic team. This key role will oversee the company’s accounting and financial management operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, driving strategic financial planning, and leading process improvements. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in multistate sales tax compliance, financial reporting, and ERP systems to help support the company’s continued growth and success.
Controller Responsibilities :
Ensure sales tax compliance across all 50 states and Canada, including managing automation tools like Avalara. As well as handle international duties, tariffs, and taxes.
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records in compliance with GAAP.
Collaborate with external firms for audits, tax filings, and financial reporting.
Develop financial reports (P&L, balance sheets) and provide insights for decision-making like finding ways to optimize pricing strategies for retail and wholesale.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
Manage vendor contracts and negotiate favorable terms.
Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve operational efficiency.
Mentor team members in accounting best practices.
Controller Qualifications :
Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
5 years in accounting / financial management, ideally in e-commerce or multi-state businesses.
Expertise in sales tax compliance and international taxation.
Proficient in ERP systems (NetSuite, xTuple) and Excel.
Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and profitability analysis.
