Controller

• Responsible for hiring, training, evaluating, and supervising their direct reports.
• Implements financial policies and reporting practices and prepares financial accounting reports, budgets, and tax returns, as directed by the Director of Finance.
• Prepares financial accounting reports and budgets.
• Communicates and assists with budgeting requirements.
• Maintains knowledge of regulations from the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
• Ensure compliance, company internal controls, and company policies and procedures are followed.
• Responsible for ensuring accurate and adequately documented accounting entries.
• Maintains and oversees month-end closing schedule and timeliness and accuracy.
• Assists with daily audits, counts, and any other task that needs to be completed.
• Prepares reports or special projects as requested by management.

Educational or formal training

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and accounting experience.

Experience:

(amount and type or nature of experience)

A minimum of four years of experience in accounting or financial business operations and supervisory experience in casino accounting a plus.

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and must be fluent and literate in English.

Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and Access).

Must have four years of experience in month-end closes and preparing financial reports.
