Poultry Manager

Stoltzfus Meats is seeking an experienced and motivated Poultry Manager to oversee the operations of our poultry stand at the New Castle Farmers Market. The Poultry Manager will be responsible for supervising staff, ensuring high product quality, managing inventory, and providing excellent customer service. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining food safety and sanitation standards.

Full-time. Wednesday - Saturday. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead a team of poultry clerks, providing training and guidance as needed.
• Ensure high-quality customer service by assisting customers and addressing inquiries or concerns.
• Manage inventory levels, placing orders as needed to maintain stock and reduce waste.
• Oversee product handling, packaging, and display to ensure freshness and appeal.
• Maintain compliance with food safety regulations and company policies.
• Operate and maintain equipment, ensuring it is clean and functioning properly.
• Handle financial transactions, including cash management, pricing, and sales reporting.
• Work collaboratively with other departments to coordinate supply chain and product offerings.
• Implement strategies to increase sales and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a retail, grocery, or food service management role, preferably in a poultry or meat department.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
• Ability to manage inventory, order supplies, and track sales.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions and pricing.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, as required by the farmers market schedule.
