The Position

The Senior Accountant has the overall responsibility for timely and accurate processing and recording of financial transactions, preparation of the company’s internal financial statements, and preparation and coordination of the audited financial statements, and development and implementation of strong internal controls to support these activities.

What You'll Be Responsible For:

• Managing Financial Transactions with Precision – Ensure the timely and accurate processing, recording, and reconciliation of expenses, accounts payable/receivable, cash disbursements, and other financial accounts.
• Owning the Monthly Close Process – Prepare financial statements efficiently and accurately, while continuously identifying opportunities to enhance processes within a strong internal control environment.
• Ensuring Compliance & Timely Tax Filings – Compile, prepare, and submit tax return data to various reporting entities, making sure all deadlines are met without fail.
• Coordinating and Preparing the Corporate Financial Audit – Coordinate the financial statement audit for Stone Coast Fund Services legal entities, ensuring all audit support is prepared accurately and on time for seamless financial reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate has the following:

• 5 years corporate accounting experience within an audited environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office is essential, advanced Excel (formulas, pivot tables, and filtering) are a must.
• Experience working in an environment with internal control procedures, operating procedures, workflows, control checklists, and other elements of an internal control system.
• Experience working with Netsuite, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Sage or equivalent ERP for medium-sized businesses a plus.
• Ability to self-manage time and meet deadlines
• Desire to work toward a CPA designation a plus
• Experience with complex financial reporting, information security and client, vendor, and risk management a plus
• Must be able to learn complicated concepts quickly
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with accuracy and attention to detail

Education Requirements

• Four-year college degree, preferably in accounting/finance, or related courses of study
