Legal Assistant

Stone, Glass & Connolly, LLP, an “AV” rated defense litigation law firm in the Palmetto Bay area, seeks a legal assistant with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the insurance defense field.

Ideal candidates for this position must be detail oriented and possess:

· A minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance defense field, trial experience strongly preferred;

· Skilled use of litigation software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Tabs, TimeMatters, and Outlook);

· Excellent grammar, spelling, writing, and communication skills;

· Familiarity with the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure, as well as Federal and Local Rules of the Middle and Southern Districts;

· The ability to work well in a teamwork driven environment managing fluctuating priorities and deadlines; and

· Strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

· Communication with clients, judicial assistants, other attorneys and their staff;

· Preparation of legal documents, correspondence, trial exhibits, presentation materials for hearings and mediations;

· Maintaining case files (electronic and paper records);

· Providing litigation support to multiple attorneys;

· Reviewing and analyzing medical, billing, employment, and insurance claim records; and

· Scheduling meetings, hearings, depositions and mediations.

Salary is negotiable and is commensurate with experience.
