Job Announcement: Stone Soup Fresno has an immediate job opening for a part-time Facilities Maintenance. This part-time position supports Stone Soup Fresno in the morning. Under the direction of the Executive Director and in accordance with Stone Soup Fresno’s mission, the position will work directly with Stone Soup Fresno’s opening team to ensure a safe and orderly opening of the campus. Emphasis on Teamwork and Team Safety is the first priority of this Facilities Maintenance job.
Position Information:
- Position is a Part-Time, early morning job.
- Start Time is: 7:00 AM and End Time is: 11:00 AM
- Approximately: 20 hours of work each week
- The person hired may start working after a successful Department of Justice (DOJ) clearance.
- Position and the offer to work is contingent on the new hire successful live scan finger print, successful background check and prior work reference checks
- Active CPR and First Aid certification highly recommended but not required. If candidate is CPR & First Aid certified, please provide a copy of your certification
- Successful hire will be given opportunity to take the CPR & First Aid certification
- Successful hire will be part of the morning team and Safety is a huge priority
Duties and Responsibilities:
As a team member of Stone Soup Fresno, the person hired for this job will work closely with: The Facilities Manager, the Executive Director, the Early Childhood Education (ECE) Director, and the Operations Manager. This job position is very important to the health and safety of all who work at Stone Soup Fresno.
The person hired must be highly responsible, on time to work every day, and must have the ability to communicate clearly and calmly to all Stone Soup Fresno staff members. This position is also responsible for serving as the safety coordinator on campus in the morning. Meaning, any hazard or potential threat needs to be told immediately to the Facility Manager, Executive Director, and ECE Director immediately.
Furthermore, this position is an important part of the Stone Soup Fresno AM morning opening team to open up the campus and get ready for program children and families to arrive. Safety for everyone on campus and the health of all on campus is our #1 priority at all times.
- Arrive on time to work at the assigned time.
- Responsible for walking the campus to make sure the campus is undisturbed by any unwanted persons who do not belong on campus and/or any unwanted situation on campus.
- Responsible for alerting all morning staff on campus if there is a any persons or situation that may disrupt the daily operations of Stone Soup Fresno.
- Responsible for calling Police should anything occurs on campus in the morning due to an unwanted person on campus or any disruptions of any kind that may result in the need for law enforcement intervention.
- Responsible to walk the parameter of Stone Soup Fresno campus to provide safety and security oversight to ensure people who don’t belong on campus do not remain on campus.
- Responsible for Opening Up the Campus with the AM morning Teachers.
- Responsible for welcome parents in the morning when they drop off their child. Say “Hello.”
- Keep an eye watch on the entire property for safety
- Report any immediate out of place situations immediately to ED, ECE Director and/or law enforcement as needed.
- Complete daily “Morning Safety Log” and turn into Main Office daily.
- Responsible to assist the Lead Janitor / Custodian staff on site as needed.
- These duties may be to empty all trash bins to the large dumpster.
- Sweep parking lot area to prevent loose nails and other debris from harming vehicles and people.
- Making sure classrooms have what they need like, paper towels, trash bins, trash bags, etc.
- If there is a janitorial need, support the Lead Janitor / Custodian as needed.
- EX: There is sink that has overflowed. Help to turn off water and declog the sink.
- Pick up delivery and take them to the appropriate classroom or office space.
- Help to unload staff vehicles after a shopping trip.
- All other duties as assigned.
Salary and Benefits:
Part-Time regular job positions are not eligible for Stone Soup Fresno health benefit package. Part-Time employees do receive paid holidays if they are scheduled to work on the holiday and a part-time pro-rated Sick Time bank of 24 hours or less depending on the prorated start date. Sick Time may change at any time without noticed.

Ability to maintain cooperative relationships within a multi-cultural organizational environment. Ability to prepare accurate written reports to management. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from colleagues, parents, and children/students.
Mathematical Skills and Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations may be helpful. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
