Facilities Maintenance Technician

General Job Duties:

Responsible for the maintenance of the following in our rooms but not limited to:

• Carpets: Should always be clean with no tears.
• Molding/Closets: All molding and closet shelves should be flush to the walls and in good physical appearance and condition.
• Electrical: should all be kept in good working order and appearance. Includes- Switches, plugs, light bulbs and fixtures, lamps, etc.
• Drywall and Paint: All must be constantly touched up and maintained during turnover between guest use.
• Heating & A/C Units: Must make sure all are in good working order and keep up with a cleaning schedule working closely with the custodian position when permitted.
• Furniture: All furniture should be sanded, stained, and be in good working condition and appearance at all times. Suggest furniture replacement when outdated or broken beyond repair.
• Bathrooms: Keep in good condition all shower knobs, doors, shower heads, towel rackets, faucets, etc. and perform upkeep on all plumbing as needed.
• Beds: Keep all headboards, bed rails, bed balls, and safety bed rails (for summer camp) in good condition and continue to re-varnish and maintain.
• Windows: Inspect all windows to make sure none are broken or damaged and that all window screens are installed correctly and are in good working condition.
• Report any and all major problems to the Supervisor
• Operate all equipment in a safe, efficient and courteous manner
• Drive resort vehicles safely to prevent unnecessary damage to vehicle or property.
• Keep tools and equipment neat and in working order. Treat all equipment with care to prevent damage.
• Perform minor repairs and regular maintenance on equipment. Return equipment to tool shed at the end of the day.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

Proven experience in construction, basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, drywall, paint.
Knowledge of general maintenance, finish carpentry, and handyman processes and methods.
Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices.
Problem solving skills.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Certificate in HVAC, maintenance technology or relevant field is a plus.
Excellent communication skills.
Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
