We are seeking an Event Porter to join our Event Team. In this role, you will work closely with the Events Team to set our events spaces for scheduled weddings and private/corporate events. Specifically, this individual will be focused on the set-up and take-down of equipment in preparation of areas for events while both displaying excellence in hospitality and creating a fun, positive, and energetic work environment for the Stone Tower team.
What You Will Do
· Manage and execute company furniture organization by ensuring correct storage, setup, and breakdown before and after events.
· Oversee facilities condition by walking spaces regularly and assisting in the maintenance of “Grand Opening” condition.
· Maintaining cleanliness and organization of event facilities and storage spaces
o Required understanding and utilization of basic cleaning equipment (vacuums/mops/floor cleaners etc.)
· Ensure customer satisfaction by fostering a safe, warm environment by proactively notifying management of issues and preventing problems before they arise.
· Working flexible schedules in accordance with company needs (e.g., weekends, evenings, etc.)
· Displaying professionalism through one’s language, appearance, and behavior
· Efficiently performing in a fast-paced environment through multi-tasking and leadership
· Practice safe and effective methods of work, use of equipment, cleaners, and tools
· Maintain a working knowledge of STW and our company-wide operations, policies, products, etc. and effectively communicate them to personnel throughout the organization
What You Need
· High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
· Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as part of a rotating shift
· Highly organized with an attention to detail
· Ability and desire to assist in responsibilities outside events
· Requires the incumbent to be medically capable of performing the following functions (but not limited to): back, leg and body motions in order to lift, sweep, mop, climb ladders, operate power equipment, move furniture and supplies. Able to maneuver heavy items. Intense physical activity
· Able to read and follow written/oral instructions
· Professional and conversational English in both verbal and written communication
· Able to work independently as well as in a team environment
· Ability to stand, sit, walk or drive a vehicle for a minimum of 10 consecutive hours
· Ability to frequently lift, drag or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift, drag or move more than 100 pounds
· 21 years of age or older
· Valid driver’s license and successful completion of background check
- Willingness to work 40 hours during busy season as needed
