We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Banquet Manager to join our team. This multifaceted role involves managing food and beverage operations, integration of functions and entertainment, and fostering a collaborative environment with the department staff. This position is under the Events & Sales Department and interactions with the public. As such, there is a certain amount of cross training and support necessary to be successful in this role. Must have the ability to prioritize and complete work tasks on time in a complex and dynamic workflow, a positive attitude, excellent customer service skills, ability to work independently, and a professional and courteous manner are necessary. Must have the ability to represent the organization in a positive and pleasing manner and comply with professional dress standards. Many events will focus around weddings and making a couples “big day” flawless.
¨ Assists in the managing the floor of all banquet events to include wedding rehearsal & dinners, day of bridal communication, executing detailed and timely weddings, social functions, golf outings and member events.
¨ Prepare facility for event or function according to contract details including, but not limited to, setting up tables and chairs, ensuring cleanliness, opening, and closing building, lighting, etc.
¨ Assist clients and vendors during events for on-site questions, needs, emergencies and respond to requests with a consistently positive and accommodating attitude, focusing on customer service.
¨ Works with the kitchen to ensure expedient excellent food quality and proper plate presentation.
¨ Responsible for training, planning, assigning, and directing work, and resolving problems.
¨ Manages and assists in alcohol management, maintains liquor pour cost, implements recipes.
¨ Assists in the completion of all month end inventories to include the bars and beverage cart.
¨ Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
¨ Regular and reliable attendance.
¨ Performs other duties as required.
Education/Experience:
Associate’s degree (AA); or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands:
Frequently stands, walks, tastes, smells, talks, hears, uses hands, and reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches. Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and POS systems.
