Job Description / Duties & Responsibilities
Product Manager for a Digital Product to Transform Payment Processing
Deep understanding of product management, requirement elicitation and articulation, and product roadmap management.
Domain knowledge in payment processing, settlements, financial transactions (B2B & B2C), and industry regulations.
Analyze payment workflows, identify optimization opportunities, and ensure seamless integration of payment systems.
Key Responsibilities
Structured Requirement Elicitation:
Pre-workshop research, analysis, and topic study.
Structured Q&A planning.
Analysis Skills:
Natural interest in analysis and problem-solving.
Extracting Functional Details:
Collaborate with stakeholders to develop product vision and business outcomes.
Work with end users/SMEs to translate needs into product requirements (payments, settlements, reconciliation).
Define and prioritize the product roadmap aligning with the overall vision.
Articulate product requirements using business flow diagrams, mind maps, wireframes, and user stories.
Documentation Skills:
Convert product roadmap into well-defined requirements (epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria).
Prepare business process flowcharts using MIRO, draw.io, Visio, etc.
Use product management tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps, AHA.
Create wireframes using prototyping or wireframing tools.
UI/UX Visualization:
Suggest usability improvements and provide recommendations to the UI/UX team.
Collaboration with Technology Teams:
Work closely to design, test, and implement payment solutions.
Payment Workflow Analysis:
Identify areas for efficiency and improvement.
Market Research:
Stay updated on emerging payment trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure adherence to financial regulations (PCI-DSS, PSD2, AML/KYC).
Risk & Performance Monitoring:
Track transaction performance, fraud risks, and security measures.
Reporting & Metrics:
Generate reports and dashboards to track payment KPIs and business metrics.
Business-Technical Alignment:
Act as a liaison between business and technical teams to align payment initiatives.
Job Specification / Skills and Competencies
Education:
Bachelor s degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.
Product Management Related:
Experience as a mature Product Manager/Owner, leading requirement workshops with client SMEs and Product Managers.
Strong articulation skills (written & verbal) with analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication ability to negotiate and finalize product requirements with stakeholders using visual tools.
Hands-on expertise in creating deliverables (business process flows, requirement specifications, user stories, product backlog).
Experience working with UI/UX/Visual design teams for product interface development.
Collaboration with Proxy Product Owners offshore for requirement grooming, sprint planning, and product engineering support.
Technical exposure to modern web/mobile application development and understanding of data structures.
Domain Knowledge (Payments):
Strong understanding of payment gateways, merchant acquiring, and card networks (Visa, Mastercard, etc.).
Familiarity with digital wallets, real-time payments, and cross-border transactions.
Experience with payment platforms (Stripe, PayPal, Adyen, etc.).
Proficiency in SQL, data analysis, and reporting tools.
Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills.
Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience in Agile environments.
Experience with API-based payment integrations.
Certifications in business analysis (CBAP, CCBA) or payments (NACHA, SWIFT) are a plus.
Exposure to AI-driven fraud detection and risk management in payments.
