Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Brand Director – Food Brands will play a key role in shaping the future of brand building at Stonewall Kitchen. This role will be responsible for driving growth for our Food Brands portfolio including Stonewall Kitchen, Vermont Coffee Company, and others by building and executing plans to meet annual brand, share, and financial objectives, including both revenue and profit targets. The Brand Director – Food Brands has a deep understanding of consumer insights, strong analytical skills, financial acumen, and a proven track record of managing high-impact marketing campaigns. The Senior Brand Manager will manage a team of brand professionals. Specific responsibilities include:
· Brand Strategy & Positioning: Develop a compelling and achievable vision for Stonewall Kitchen’s portfolio of food brands inclusive of macro trends, category and competitive landscape, and consumer insights. Articulate clear brand positionings, portfolio role and insight-driven marketing strategies across the portfolio of brands, as well as objectives to achieve in-year and long term sustainable growth.
· P&L Management: Responsible for top and bottom line delivery in partnership with cross functional teams (Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, PD, Category Management, Innovation, etc.) through growth strategies and plans and cost reduction opportunities.
· Business Analysis/Planning: Lead brand business analytics including monthly consumption analysis, shipment performance vs objectives, consumer panel data, marketing performance and financial information. Deep dive into category and competitive dynamics and recommend course corrections, risks and opportunities to deliver annual financial objectives.
· Marketing Activation: Manage and prioritize objectives, budget, activation plans and performance across the portfolio of Food brands to meet brand and business objectives. Partner with internal and external teams and agency partners to ensure brands deliver against objectives and maximize delivery of top and bottom line, in market delivery and brand building metrics across the portfolio of brands.
· Product Portfolio Optimization: Continuously manage life cycle of products, ensuring portfolio remains relevant. Identify opportunities for line extensions and new product categories while maintaining brand authenticity as well as sku rationalization recommendations.
· People Leadership: Manage, mentor and support a team, fostering their professional growth. Support enhanced marketing and brand building capabilities across the full marketing and creative team and broader organization.
Requirements
· Minimum BS in Business / Marketing, MBA preferred
· Minimum 10 years’ experience in brand management, CPG Food and Beverage required
· Experience in a traditional brand management structure, emerging brand experience preferred
· Proven ability to manage budgets, analyze data and translate insights into actionable plans
· Minimum 5 years’ experience people management experience
· Proficient in IRI / Nielsen data analysis
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
· Experience leading cross functional teams and managing external agencies
· Excellent communication, leadership and project management skills
