What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Cardiac Tech position at Stony Brook Administrative Services?
The Lead Cardiac will be responsible for the daily workflow of the arrhythmia diagnostics and remote services provided by the Center. The incumbent demonstrates proficiency in arrhythmia analysis on multiple equipment platforms, portals and demonstrates proficiency with all remote monitoring equipment including technical and clinical use of each piece of equipment, and the ability to trouble-shoot issues, interface with technical support and provide instruction and education to patients, families and co-workers.
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintaining proper function of all remote service equipment and portals.
- Maintain proper scheduling of all patients with orders for remote diagnostic services.
- Oversees all remote websites for diagnostic equipment and remote monitoring of implanted devices.
- Responsible for maintaining appropriate scheduling of all remote services within billing guidelines
- Delegates and/or assign staff to ensure all services are completed in a timely manner
- Ensures appropriate billing for services by Clinical Supervisor or her RN assistant
- Responsible for new staff orientation along with Clinical Supervisor
- Assist Clinical Supervisor in evaluation of clinical staff performance improvement.
- Reports any clinical issues directly to the Clinical Supervisor or her designee (RN/NP)
- Ensures all clinical staff adheres to clinic and/or Practice policy and procedures.
- Ensures adequate staffing for scheduled procedures/monitoring/evaluation.
- Maintains open communication between staff and Clinical Supervisor.
- Assists Clinical Supervisor with cultivating an efficient and safe environment for both the staff and the patients at the practice
- Promotes teamwork among coworkers and performs other duties as assigned
- Maintains strict patient confidentially consistent with Stony Brook HIPPA Guidelines.

Qualifications:
- Certified Cardiac Technician with three (3) or more years of clinical experience in a device clinic
- Experience in an ambulatory or physician practice setting strongly preferred
- Experienced with electronic medical records (EMR), picture archival systems (PACS), remote monitoring service portals and other office software packages, e.g., MS Office, Physician Scheduling, etc.
- Is proactive, a problem solver, and adept at finding efficiencies
- Professional appearance and communication
Physical Demands:
May spend a great deal of their professional day walking, standing, moving and manipulating equipment, as well as lifting and moving objects, equipment and supplies. Ability to lift 20 pounds. Moving, lifting or transferring of patients or objects may involve lifting of up to 50 pounds, as well as assist with weights of more than one-hundred (100) pounds. Requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend or twist their body, as well as visual acuity.
Salary : $26 - $29
