Finance Director

Stony Brook Regional Sewerage Authority (SBRSA) is seeking a proactive, hands-on Finance Director (FD) to oversee the Authority’s financial operations. Successful applicants must be able to provide in-depth, extensive financial analysis.Responsibilities : Maintaining meticulous records and ledgersManaging debt, investments, and disbursement of fundsCoordinating the annual auditSupervising and processing accounts payable / accounts receivable / payrollOverseeing grants and federal and State of New Jersey funding programsDeveloping financial policies and proceduresManaging all other functions of the finance departmentThe FD will work with the Executive Director and department heads to prepare the annual budget and capital plan. The FD must be able to fulfill all obligations in compliance with New Jersey law and all relevant federal regulations.Qualifications : Managerial skills and experience are a mustEffective communication and ability to maintain positive working relationshipsNJ State CMFO and QPA certification is preferred but not requiredC.P.A. is strongly preferredBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a relevant field is preferredA minimum of 3 – 5 years of finance experience is preferredExperience with Edmunds GovTech Software is a plusStrong computer literacy is required, with proficiency in Microsoft OfficeSalary : $90,000 to $130,000, depending upon qualifications.Equal Opportunity Employment is open until filled.
