Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Three (3) years of full-time coaching experience at a collegiate level in the sport of basketball (experience at the high school, college, professional, or national team level, as well as playing experience at the college, professional, or national team level in men's basketball, may be considered).
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Previous recruiting experience, including recruiting database management or player evaluations. Previous experience with a Division I Athletic Program. Experience with a basketball program.
Brief Description Of Duties
The Director for Player Personnel is responsible for the oversight of a variety of administrative tasks and player relations associated with the efficient operation of a Division I Men’s Basketball program. This position will report directly to the Head Men’s Basketball Coach and will be the primary liaison with various athletic department staff members. The Director will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the administrative side of the Recruiting process including database management and film evaluations. They will also assist with current player personnel matters, and NCAA Compliance and Official Visit planning. This person will also serve as the primary contact to various Athletic Department support areas and professional scouting personnel. In addition, this position will be required to travel with the team throughout the season.
This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
In addition to the employee's base salary, this position is eligible for $3,400 UUP annual location pay, paid biweekly.
Evening And Weekend Work May Be Required At Times.

- Recruiting Administration and Management: This position will be responsible for the administrative side of the Recruitment Process. This will involve oversight of the Recruiting software programs, subscriptions and daily management in conjunction with the Recruiting Director on the Coaching Staff. This will require the incumbent to identify, evaluate, collect data, and collect video on prospects to provide direction to the Coaching Staff through available and permissible sources. They will also monitor permissible recruiting websites in the direction of the coaching staff to provide updates on committed prospects. This information will be used to coordinate updates to the recruiting database. This position will work closely with the coaching staff members and evaluate the recruiting films of prospective student athletes in order to attract and admit the highest quality Men’s Basketball players.
- Current Player Personnel: They will be responsible for but not limited to the daily oversight of the current players in regards to their athletic and academic obligations, financial obligations, assisting with professional development for life after college, identifying and coordinating team community service efforts and other daily tasks in which the student-athletes encounter on a regular basis.
- Admissions and Financial Aid Liaison: This position is responsible for working with the Admissions liaison to monitor prospective student-athletes and the new student acceptance process, evaluate transcripts and assist all student-athletes with the application process. The Director will also work with the Financial Aid Office to initiate grant-in-aid requests for prospective student-athletes and monitor the current student-athlete grant-in-aids as well as their student accounts.
- Compliance: In conjunction with the Compliance Office and in accordance with NCAA regulations, the Director will be responsible for oversight of official/unofficial visits with duties such as student-athlete complimentary ticket requests and coordinating on-campus visits (setting up itinerary, processing approvals, hospitality money disbursements and travel arrangements). In addition, the review of college transfer transcripts, potential credits and documenting/tracking recruiting activity for the coaching staff will also be a task of the incumbent. The Director will work directly with the Recruiting Director in accomplishing the above tasks.
- Professional Liaison: The Director will arrange campus visits with the National Men’s Basketball League personnel and scouts, send game films to all NBA teams through NBA club exchange dub-center and coordinate junior and senior Pro-days.
- Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission.
