About the Role:
The successful candidate will manage multiple self-storage facilities in the Syracuse/Albany NY area and provide an exceptional customer experience. Candidates must reside within this geographic region and be able to travel to all properties regularly.
- Guide and direct the district team in the development, production, promotion, and financial aspects of SIMI’s product and services; collaborate with key stakeholders to implement company strategy, systems and processes.
- Ensure a culture of customer service excellence; resolve customer inquiries and concerns.
- Perform regular site audits; identify and implement opportunities to improve performance, including operational systems and sales.
- Manage physical assets, audit store inventory, store unit inventory, petty cash. Supervise repair and maintenance of facilities; review and approve supply purchases. Negotiate store service agreements and obtain approval.
- Recruit, motivate and retain a dedicated team of customer facing, front line employees. Evaluate performance and provide feedback for improvement.
- Drive business forward by using analytics to identify trends, develop and implement strategies; prepare budgets, control expenses, and identify revenue opportunities.
- Manage rental rates, discounts, Customer Protection Plan; oversee delinquent tenant process including auctions; coach team to reduce delinquency rates and improve customer retention.
About You:
College degree or relevant course work and 3 years management experience in multi-unit operations in retail, hotel, food service, leasing, with responsibility for 10 stores. Self-Storage management experience preferred.
- Proven leadership skills in building, developing, and retaining high-performing teams.
- Proficient in MS Outlook (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to learn management software and IT hardware fundamentals at each location.
- Exceptional communication and ability to allocate time effectively, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines; handle multiple demands and competing priorities.
- Proactive always looking ahead and anticipating customer and business needs and challenges.
- Flexible self-starter who flourishes in a dynamic environment.
