The Senior Fund Accountant will be responsible for managing daily accounting tasks and assist the Fund Accounting Manager with booking all activity for assigned Funds.
Job Description:
- Responsible for daily bookkeeping of Fund and other business entities handled in-house.
- Prepare Financial Statements and Bank Reconciliations of other in-house entities.
- Responsible for reconciling bank accounts for Funds.
- Assist Fund Accounting Manager with closing and reporting to Investors on a quarterly and annual basis.
- Collaborate cross function with Deal Team, Treasury and Property personnel to ensure comprehensive accounting for assigned Funds.
- Maintain and review the general ledger for multiple fund entities.
- Monitor cash balances and prepare and review weekly and monthly bank statement reconciliations.
- Prepare and review monthly financial reporting packages.
- Assist in completing and review the quarterly close process including preparation and review of journal entries.
- Assist in Preparing and review quarterly/annual financial statements, quarterly capital statements, investor letters, LP distribution and capital call notifications, and quarterly work papers for internal review and quarterly reporting support.
- Calculate and review capital calls, distributions, and management fees.
- Be a point of contact during the annual audit by providing supporting documentation as requested.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements and elimination entries for all SROA entity and other in-house entity annual tax returns.
- Prepare and review ad hoc financial analysis, projects, and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- BS in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Public accounting and/or CPA a plus.
- 4 years of fund accounting experience.
- Experience in the financial services and/or real estate industry.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Strong analytical and accounting skills.
- Advanced excel skills required.
- Working experience in the general ledger and financial statements.
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with high level of difficulty.
- Collaborative, detail-oriented, and execution-focused.
- Ability to multi-task, pivot between projects/tasks.
- Knowledge of FIS/Investran a plus.
