Summary: Our eCommerce Team is seeking an experienced and motivated User Experience Strategist (UX Strategist) to drive innovative digital experiences and set new standards in the storage industry.
As a UX Strategist, you will be responsible for conducting research, analyzing user behavior, and developing strategies that enhance the usability and functionality of our web experiences. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, UX designers, web developers, web engineers, and marketing stakeholders, to create intuitive and engaging user experiences.
This role reports to the Director of eCommerce and is remote and/or hybrid in our Columbia, MO office.
Pay: $100,000/salary – Commensurate with experience
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. *Conduct user research, usability testing, and analyze data to continually improve the user experience, optimize conversion rates, and enhance revenue.
2. *Create A/B testing plans and analyze results of A/B tests to ensure digital development aligns with improved conversion rates and enhances revenue.
3. *Develop deep empathy for users by understanding their needs, motivations, and pain points to ensure designs reflect these insights, while supporting company revenue goals.
4. *Understand and recognize key eCommerce metrics (e.g., conversion rate, bounce rate, cart abandonment, time on site) and translate data into actionable design improvements that address user drop-offs and pain points throughout the buying journey, including checkout forms, payment flows, and abandonment reduction.
5. *Collaborate with product owners, developers, and cross-functional teams including SEO, Paid Media, Email Marketing, and Revenue Management to align on eCommerce goals and implement optimized design solutions.
6. *Develop user journey maps and user flows to inform and validate design decisions.
7. Provide insights on customer needs beyond the website, including customer portal experiences, web chat services, and multi-channel interactions.
8. Advocate for accessibility and inclusive design by ensuring compliance with WCAG standards and accommodating diverse user abilities, ages, and backgrounds.
9. *Stay updated on industry trends, competitor innovations, and best practices in UX design, eCommerce, and digital marketing to maintain a competitive edge.
10. *Present UX findings and strategic recommendations to team members, leadership, and cross-functional teams.
Basic Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in UX Research, Digital Strategy, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
2. *3 years of UX research, strategy, or conversion rate optimization with a focus on eCommerce.
3. *Hands-on experience in designing, executing and analyzing A/B tests from hypothesis to post-test analysis to optimize user experience and conversion rates.
4. *Experience with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, VWO, FullStory) and a strong understanding of key eCommerce metrics (e.g., conversion rate, bounce rate, cart abandonment).
5. Familiarity with CMS platforms (e.g., Contentful) and basic front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
6. Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design principles.
7. *Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present data-driven design decisions.
8. Experience with user journey mapping, information architecture, and optimizing navigation, search, and filters.
9. *Understanding of SEO, Paid Media, and/or Email Marketing best practices for optimizing landing pages.
10. *If remote, willingness to travel up to 1x per quarter to Columbia, MO, or as needed for conferences and tradeshows.
