About

Stord, a pioneering supply chain and logistics startup, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Corporate Counsel to join our dynamic team. This role is integral to ensuring our legal and regulatory compliance as we continue to innovate and expand our services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate law, with a particular focus on supply chain and logistics industries. You will be a strategic partner to our leadership team, providing insightful legal guidance and support across all facets of our business.

What You'll Do

  • Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, financing, corporate governance, and securities.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including service agreements, partnership agreements, and vendor contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, particularly those pertaining to the logistics and supply chain industry.
  • Manage and mitigate legal risks by designing and implementing company policies and procedures.
  • Oversee and manage outside counsel relationships, including budgeting and strategic direction.
  • Advise on employment law matters, including employee contracts, benefits, and dispute resolution.
  • Assist with intellectual property matters, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
  • Participate in strategic planning and business development activities to support the company’s growth objectives.
  • Provide training and guidance to the company on legal and compliance matters.

What You'll Need

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in at least one state bar.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant legal experience, with a focus on corporate law.
  • Prior experience in the supply chain, logistics, or technology sectors is highly desirable.
  • Strong negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High ethical standards and professional integrity.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with startup environments or high-growth companies.
  • Knowledge of Elixir programming language or other functional programming languages.
  • Familiarity with international trade laws and regulations.
  • Previous in-house counsel experience.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Experience with data privacy and cybersecurity issues.
