STOREY COUNTY PUBLIC NOTICEBOARD OF EQUALIZATION VACANCYPrecinct (At Large)Position: Storey County Board of Equalization Member “At Large”. The Storey County Board of Equalization meets by statute a minimum of once per year before the end of February. It is an independent Board composed of citizen taxpayers of Storey County. Its mission is to fully and fairly equalize the value of all real and tangible personal property in the County for purposes of taxation and to provide an appeal forum for taxpayers to correct perceived inequities in the assessment of value. Applicants should have knowledge of real and personal property, Storey County, property appraisal techniques and property tax law. Experience or education in the building trades also is helpful. This position is appointed by the Board of County Commissioners to serve for a 4-year term.Letter of Interest: All interested parties must submit a letter of interest showing qualifications and reason for applying for the appointment. An official job application is not necessary.Closing Date: Letters of interest (originals) must be received by the Storey County Human Resources Office, Storey County Courthouse, 26 South “B” Street (P.O.
