Storm Search is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Supervisor to oversee all financial activities within a manufacturing facility. This role requires a strong background in accounting practices within a production environment and a keen ability to manage and lead a team to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. As a critical member of the finance team, you will be responsible for managing cost accounting, financial reporting, and supporting budgeting and forecasting efforts, while ensuring the plant’s financial operations are in alignment with corporate objectives.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and Supervise Accounting Team: Manage a team of accountants responsible for plant accounting functions. Ensure all team members are trained, motivated, and supported in their daily activities.
- Cost Accounting: Oversee the preparation and analysis of cost reports, including cost of goods manufactured (COGM), cost of goods sold (COGS), and inventory valuation. Identify cost variances and drive corrective actions.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the plant, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with plant leadership to develop and track annual budgets. Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and highlight any variances from projections.
- Inventory Management: Ensure accurate accounting for raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods inventories. Oversee cycle counts, year-end physical inventory, and reconciliation processes.
- Internal Controls & Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal control procedures to protect the company’s assets. Prepare for and manage internal and external audits.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to accounting processes and systems to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaboration: Work closely with plant operations, procurement, and supply chain teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, financial analysis, and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems).
- Experience with inventory management and manufacturing processes.
- High attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
