ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
- Troubleshooting and managing the maintenance and optimization of plant control systems including PLC’s, VFD’s, I / O, sensors, HMI’s, communication networks, DCS system, automation and control software, etc., through direct involvement and the deployment and direction of internal and external resources.
- Supports the troubleshooting and managing the maintaining and optimizing of the Electrical Distribution system performance including transformers, switchgear, MCCs, load centers, lighting, etc. through direct involvement and the deployment and direction of internal and external resources.
- Coordinates and collaborates with the appropriate stakeholders to ensure the plant’s alignment with company's best practices.
- Complies with all safety and environmental regulations (Internal & External) and applicable company standards.
- Reports to the Maintenance Manager to achieve overall success and attainment of plant goals and objectives.
- Responds to and troubleshoots all plant equipment resulting directly or indirectly from electrical or controls system dynamics.
- Provides troubleshooting support for mechanical system malfunctions
- Recommends and implements improvements and optimizations for plant electrical and control systems as a project lead or as a team member.
- Recommends and implements technical skills development strategies for the plant technicians and supports on complex controls problems..
- Collaborates with the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Planner to establish and execute PMs for the plant’s electrical and control systems.
- Updates regularly and as needed the electrical power distribution and control system drawings and documentation and ensures copies are available in the control panels.
- Supports and participates in the planning cycle for weekly, monthly and annual maintenance activities including extended plant shutdowns.
- Responsible for maintaining all plant systems, troubleshooting and program modifications and our plant process control database.
- Understands and complies with the National Electric Code while performing work on equipment.
- May be required to design and draw schematics for equipment updates.
- Examines expansion plans for proper electrical installation.
- Responsible for PLC upgrades, programming and wiring.
- Work with outside vendors effectively coordinating work
