⚡Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer to join our Hardware Engineering team. This role involves troubleshooting existing products and implementing design improvements based on root cause analysis. You'll be involved in both product support and new product development, working independently as well as collaborating with senior engineers to expand your skills.
⚡Responsibilities:
- Redesign or update outdated electrical systems to improve reliability and functionality
- Prototype and test design revisions to enhance performance and manufacturability
- Investigate and resolve issues with existing products through detailed failure analysis
- Create test methods and tools to evaluate product failures
- Provide mentorship to technicians when needed
- Lead meetings to present findings and solutions to senior engineers and managers
- Work with senior engineers to understand product designs and contribute to new product development
- Collaborate with suppliers to transfer new designs and gather information for ongoing investigations
- Participate in design reviews to ensure new products avoid weaknesses found in current designs
- Work closely with engineers from different disciplines, including mechanical, firmware, and test teams
- Contribute to a collaborative, high-energy team to develop top-quality hardware products, supporting testing and debugging efforts as needed
⚡Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- At least 2 years of experience in electrical engineering or a related field, or a Master’s/PhD in Electrical Engineering
- Strong understanding of analog, digital, and mixed-signal systems
- Familiarity with AC/DC power systems, including converters, inverters, and relays
- Experience with lab equipment like oscilloscopes, power supplies, and waveform generators
- Proficiency in schematic design and layout tools
- Experience with modeling and simulation software (e.g., SPICE, MATLAB, PLECs)
- Basic knowledge of scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, etc.)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work well in teams
⚡Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in fast-paced engineering environments
- Knowledge of renewable energy technologies (e.g., lithium-ion batteries, solar power, power conversion)
- Experience with regulatory standards (e.g., UL, FCC, medical or aerospace certifications)
- Experience designing and debugging Level 2, V2x EV chargers
- Background in designing and shipping high-volume consumer products
- Familiarity with working with contract manufacturers
- Experience with Altium Designer
