Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The IT Support Specialist is a part-time entry-level position working approximately 3 days per week starting in May, 2025. You'll coordinate help-desk-type IT activities with such systems as SharePoint, Teams, etc. This position requires occasional traveling to construction jobsites located across central Iowa within the established work shift.
Summary of Duties:
IT Support-
- Assist employees through phone, email, and in-person contact with hardware and software troubleshooting
IT Asset Tracking –
- Log and label new equipment
- Handle transfers of equipment
- Review inventory and verify asset locations and users
Equipment Management –
- Handle requests for cords, adapters, docks, monitors, keyboards, mice, laptop bags, OWLS, 360-degree cameras, headsets, etc.
- Place orders for those same items as needed
- New computer setup and coordination
- New smartphone setup and coordination
Microsoft-
- Assist with video conferencing issues
- Training tips or videos
- SharePoint Administration
- Review Microsoft Licensing
Jobsite Setup –
- Coordinate internet connection
- Install plan table TV’s
IT Onboarding/Offboarding -
- Provision and de-provision employees in Active Directory
- Conduct IT orientations with new hires
Liaison end users and Managed Service Provider –
- Help Access Systems (MSP) reach users when needed
- Help bridge communication gaps between users and Access Systems (MSP)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must be able to effectively communicate (written and verbal) with both technical and non-technical users at all levels of the Company.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and changing business requirements.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented. A proactive approach to identifying users’ needs.
- Builds relationships internally and externally.
- Ability to learn quickly, grasp business processes and functions and understand how they will impact the working product.
- Provides prompt, efficient, and personalized assistance to users while being pleasant, courteous, and professional. Projects a professional image of oneself and the company, demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and displays a commitment to excellence.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Required Qualifications:
- Relevant class or work experience.
- Systems support experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required
- Experience with Active Directory, Windows Server and Azure is desirable
- Driver’s License with good driving record required
Physical Demands:
The employee will work in conditions of repetitive movement, climbing, reaching, kneeling, bending or twisting, and using hands to lift, push, pull, carry, handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Occasionally, the employee may be required to crouch and work in awkward positions in installing and deploying technology solutions. The employee sits for long periods of time, and walks on uneven surfaces, and the employee must be able to occasionally lift and carry heavy objects up to 30 pounds and team lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds. Rarely, the employee may need to lift and carry objects in excess of 30 pounds.
