What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adult Discipleship Administrative Assistant position at Storyline Church?
Administratively Reports To: Pastor of Adult Discipleship
Department: Adult Discipleship
Status: Part-time, this position is expected to work 20-25 hours a week (not to exceed 28)
Summary: The Adult Discipleship Administrative Assistant will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Adult Discipleship Team by facilitating the smooth operation of programs, events, and initiatives to foster spiritual growth and discipleship within the church community.
Job Responsibilities
Administratively support Adult Discipleship ministries and events
The Storyline Institute
- Administravely oversee the application, acceptance, registration, and table assignment process.
- Administratively set up the year for success with schedule, syllabus, assignment, and communication updates.
- Coordinate volunteer teams.
- Oversee Google Classroom and student communication.
- Coordinate logistics for the Institute year and special events (Orientation, Seminars, leader training and appreciation, and last class of the semester) by managing communication, resources, food, supplies, set up, cleanup, etc.
Storyline Groups
- Oversee website accuracy for our listed Groups.
- Assist administratively with onboarding of new leaders with background checks and ministry safe training.
- Create event registrations and assist with participant communication.
- Assist with event logistics for leader training and appreciation.
Men’s and Women’s Bible Study
- Oversee and create event registrations and assist with participant communication.
- Administratively oversee the table assignment process.
- Coordinate logistics for the Bible Study semester and special events (leader training and appreciation, first and last day of the semester) by managing communication, resources, food, supplies, set up, cleanup, etc.
Worship
- Assist the Worship Minister with coordinating logistics for special events, including leader training and appreciation, choir rehearsal, Prayer & Worship nights, and A Christmas Night of Worship.
Adult Discipleship Team Support
- Serve as the primary point of contact for questions about Adult Discipleship Ministries and assist with connecting Storyline members to ministries.
- Assist the Director of Adult Discipleship with the team meeting schedule, agenda, and follow-up with action items.
- Input and maintain calendar events in Planning Center for The Storyline Institute, Groups, Men’s and Women’s Bible Study, and Worship.
- Support other discipleship team needs and specific initiatives as needed at the direction of the Director of Adult Discipleship.
Relationship with Storyline Team:
- I receive input from: Director of Adult Discipleship
- I work with: Adult Discipleship Team
- I lead: Ministry volunteers in conjunction with Adult Discipleship Staff Team
Qualifications:
- Member of Storyline Church
- A daily pursuit of Christian maturity
- Agree with & live in alignment with Storyline Statement of Faith
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Decisive leader, willing & eager to support discipleship at Storyline
- Organized, strong follow-through, ability to independently problem-solve
- High attention to detail and organization
- High capacity and flexibility
- Confidence and initiative to anticipate needs within this ministry lane and execute accordingly
- Proficiency in GSuite, Microsoft Office, & Planning Center
