What are the responsibilities and job description for the Investment Analyst position at Stotan Industrial?
The Analyst is responsible for assisting the Development Management Team in overseeing and managing the day-to-day execution and investment activity across Stotan Industrial’s pipeline and existing portfolio of ground-up industrial developments and assisting the Executive Team with overseeing the company’s overall operating, cash flow model. This is a highly visible role that will work closely with the executive team, business development team and construction managers on all aspects of Stotan’s development and investment strategies. This role will provide significant exposure and a ground-floor opportunity to be at the intersection of all aspects of a development company. The Investment Analyst will be responsible for a myriad of duties including (though not limited to): underwriting and modeling new development opportunities, modeling and maintaining the entity cash flow model, tracking market activity and comparative lease & sale analysis, assisting in site diligence and pre-development efforts, preparing materials for the Executive Committee, Investment Committee and capital partner approval, tracking construction progress and leasing of developments through stabilization.
Responsibilities
This role will report directly to Stotan’s Development Management Team across the U.S. Specific responsibilities include:
- Review and screen industrial real estate development opportunities.
- Manage entity-wide cash flow model
- Assist in the financial analysis and underwriting of potential investments.
- Coordinate due diligence/pre-development efforts and monitor ongoing development progress.
- Create and maintain detailed transaction-specific financial models for industrial real estate investments (Excel-based).
- Research and analyze market statistics and transaction data.
- Prepare investment committee memorandums and attend investment committee meetings and capital partner presentations.
Experience & Qualifications
- College Degree, preferably in finance or real estate finance.
- Minimum 1-3 years’ work experience in the real estate industry required.
- Understanding of basic financial concepts used to evaluate investments and build models, such as simple cash flow analyses, time value of money, return on investment, etc.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical ability
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality and diplomacy.
- Self-motivation, determination, and initiative in a team environment.
- Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced work environment.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and strong time management skills.
- High-level proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
