Lead Technician

Stowe Communications is a local internet and television provider that has been in business since 1984. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Technician to join our team.

This position is responsible for managing and executing fiber optic Internet and television installations, maintaining legacy coaxial RF systems from the headend to the node, coordinating coaxial to fiber conversions and ensuring residential and commercial customers receive optimal connectivity while also guiding and mentoring fellow technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

Installations: * Install, splice, terminate, and test fiber optic cables to ensure optimal network performance.

Repairs and Maintenance:

• Troubleshoot and identify signal degradation and equipment failures within the headend, customers' homes and outside plant.

• Maintain RF portions of the plant including headend and outdoors from the node to the system terminations.

• Maintain high RF S/N performance standards.

• Work to transition into 100 % fiber optic platform as coaxial is phased out.

Field Service & Support:

• Participate in after-hours and weekend on-call shifts as required.

Mentorship & Leadership:

• Guide and mentor fellow technicians, ensuring high-quality service and compliance with safety regulations.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. as needed.

• Frequently climb ladders and work in various outdoor environments, including all temperatures, climates, and weather conditions.

• Perform tasks such as lifting, pulling, crouching, and standing for extended periods.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in coaxial and fiber cabling, splicing, network installation, and maintenance. * Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history required.

• Ability to work independently and lead a team under minimal supervision.
