Job Title: Paraprofessional – Front Office

Job Goal: The goal of this position is to assist the Administrative Assistant to meet the needs of students, administration, and staff.

- Knowledge of office practices and operation of standard office appliances, including desktop computers and copy machines.
- Knowledge of secretarial procedures as applied to a school building.

- Requires effective organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines, and demonstrates punctuality and good attendance.
- Ability to operate keyboard devices at a moderate speed.
- Ability to organize and direct office services for a school office.
- Ability to use standard data base, spreadsheet and word processing software effectively.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversees process of and assumes responsibility for timely and accurate completion of office functions.
- Coordinates workloads and information with other support staff which may include: Overseeing maintenance of office equipment.
- Issuing building keys.
- Maintaining inventory/ordering office.
- Posting, distributing newsletters.
- Maintains student records.
- Enrolls/drops students, completes accompanying paperwork.
- Processes mail, assists in preparation of reports, maintains staff and building files, answers inquiries from staff, students, parents and all other customers
- Provides first aid as needed.
- Prepares notification of meetings, agendas and minutes then word processes and distributes as required.
- Coordinates collection and processing of forms required by local, state and federal programs.
- Administers/monitors medication for students; documents all medicine or treatment administered or monitored.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Bonding, and or Testing Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum three (3) years clerical/secretarial/bookkeeping/account experience preferred.
Physical Demands: Work is mostly sedentary with periods of light physical activity. Typical positions require employees to walk or stand for long periods; lift and carry up to 20 pounds; climb stairs, bend, reach, hold, grasp and turn objects; and use fingers to operate computer or typewriter keyboards. The work requires the ability to speak normally and to use normal or aided vision and hearing.
Work Environment: Work is performed in an office, classroom and/or other educational setting.
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Days / Terms of Employment: 200 Days / Nine-month position. Salary to be determined by the School Board of Education.
