Essential Duties, Skills And Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: establish a sustainable strategy for growth through greenfield and acquisition development of solar and energy storage projects.
- Project Management: Ensure the entire development lifecycle of renewable energy projects, including site selection, land acquisition, permitting and interconnection yields cost competitive projects
- Partnerships and Collaboration: Establish and maintain internal and external relationships with key stakeholders internally (EPC, Construction, Engineering, Origination, Finance, etc.) and externally (landowners, county and state agencies, consultants, and industry partners, etc.).
- Financial Oversight: Prepare and manage budgets and financial forecasts, as well as make sure that the teams follow internal best practices on expenditure management.
- Process implementation: identify, create and implement a minimum standard of process when missing to ensure accuracy and completeness of data.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of development professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape in the renewable energy sector.
- Supervise development team members
- Set performance goals and expectations for team members.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or MBA is viewed positively.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in renewable energy project development, with a focus on solar energy and battery storage.
- Track-record: proven track-record on developing projects from early stage to NTP, as well as capacity to demonstrate that some of these projects were financed or/and reached COD.
- Leadership: Proven track record of leading and developing highly competent teams
- Strong project management process and task tracking skills, and able to flexibly manage work across multiple distinct projects.
- Financial Acumen: understanding of financial modeling, financing, and investment strategies.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards in the renewable energy sector.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make strategic decisions under pressure.
- Critical Thinking: Proven ability to lead to imaginative and innovative solutions, often under near term deadlines
- Self-motivated with a high level of initiative, attention to detail and accountability. Ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment.
