">Job Summary
">We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Substation Superintendent to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the management of substation construction activities to ensure compliance with project schedules and contract requirements.
">Responsibilities
">The Substation Superintendent will be responsible for:

Managing and coordinating substation construction activities to ensure compliance with project schedules and contract requirements;
">Monitoring and reporting on construction productivity and schedule performance to relevant stakeholders;
">Taking actions necessary to meet project budget and schedule requirements;
">Directing and approving the development and implementation of construction schedule recovery plans as required;
">Coordinating the Construction Completion Walkdowns and the complete handover of start-up packages to the Startup Manager and supervising the close-out of all punch list items;
">Assisting Project Manager with client interface and relations;
">Coordinating with Material Manager to review all secured materials for acceptance;
">Conducting weekly subcontractor meetings;
">Reporting weekly schedule and commodity installation status to the Construction Manager and the Project Manager;
">Monitoring all extra work authorization requests, back charges, and supplier and subcontractor progress/final payment requests for acceptance and being responsible for subordinates providing timely tracking information to Project Controls to support the change management system;
">Adhering to Safety, Quality, Ethical Standards, Lessons Learned, and Performance Management programs in accordance with Division Policies, Standards, Guides, and Contractual commitments;
">Monitoring and approving all CIR replies to the subcontractors;
">Being responsible for completion of the construction punch list relevant to the substation;
">Having full knowledge of the safety program and acting as the Safety Representative on site in the absence of the regular Safety Supervisor;
">Having general knowledge of all disciplines of construction and being able to stand in for each lead discipline;
">Resolving safety and quality issues with the safety and quality managers; Further disputes are then deferred to the Project Manager or Division Safety manager;
">Understanding the major commercial and deliverable terms of the construction subcontracts and managing within these terms;
">Writing the substation construction portion of the client and construction monthly report;
">Coordinating with the Field Engineers or home office engineers on engineering deliverables;

Requirements
">To be successful in this role, you will require advanced-level knowledge in safety and OSHA requirements, project permits and permit requirements, interpreting state rules and regulations, contract management, management of sub-contractors, vendors, and materials, construction drawing review, drawing quantity takeoff, reporting, writing skills, relationship building, leadership, team building, mentor and facilitator, interpersonal skills, interpretation of a project schedule, planning, interpretation of scopes of work, decision-making, adaptability to environment, working in a fast-paced environment. Intermediate-level knowledge in project management, budget analysis and controls, change orders, QA/QC processes, developing logical and resource-loaded project schedules, estimating work efforts, development of processes and procedures, continuous improvement such as Lean, Six Sigma, Total Quality Management, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio), job costing or accounting software, and basic-level knowledge in scheduling software (MS Project, P6) are also essential.
