Responsibilities
Oversees and leads a team on a single or multiple projects with minimum oversight by Senior Project or Program Manager. Fully responsible for cost, schedule, performance, and customer relations for assigned project(s). Must be able to implement the following:
- Successfully produces customer specified products through the application of skills, talents, processes, and standards
- Acts as the single point of contact for all project activities
- Maintains overall responsibility and authority over their individual projects
- Coordinates with the customer to obtain and understand the work scope, schedule, and funding
- Produces realistic, actionable, and executable plans, schedules, estimates, and risk assessments
- Communicates regular status up the chain of command, as required
- Responsible for coordinating and conducting Project Planning Briefs, Project Review Briefs (IPT, SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR), and project lessons learned
- Modifies plans and negotiates resources to maintain schedule and cost estimates
- Coordinates with Management Team to identify personnel resources
- Creates atmosphere of coordination, cooperation, and communication among the team
- Defines, utilizes, and reports metrics to track and trend project progress
- Ensures team members comply with company and project processes
- Coordinates with affiliated functional leads including Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Contracts, and Human Resources.
Minimum Qualifications/Competencies
- Can track project schedule, cost, and performance and prepare project status reports supported by Project Coordinator, Project Control Analysts, and/or Engineers for submittal to approving authority
- Understands principles and practices of configuration management
- Understands overall project developmental requirements
- Consistently takes decisive and timely action when confronted with a problem
- Must be able to conduct meetings and presentations to project stakeholders
Should have one of the following:
- BS degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Science, or an appropriate technical field with a minimum of three (3) years of experience
- A Master's Degree with a minimum of two (2) years of experience
- A High School Diploma and five (5) years of experience may be substituted for the Bachelor of Science Degree.
- An understanding of the DoD acquisition process is desirable.
- Project/Program Manager certification, such as PMP and/or DAWIA/BtB, is desirable
Clearance
- Must be eligible for and able to maintain a Secret Clearance. An Active Secret Clearance preferred.
