Inside Sales Representative

Position Summary

The essential purpose of our inside sales representative (counter sales) is to enhance branch store sales by providing specialty product knowledge and technical expertise and to support branch activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide customers with specialty product knowledge and technical expertise.
• Troubleshoot and respond to technical problems posed by customers and branch personnel.
• Assist in all phases of store operations.
• Complete paperwork accurately and in a timely manner according to company policies and procedures.
• Serve as primary in-house contact for major customers served by branch store.
• For selected accounts, offer special prices or discounts based on specific guidelines and in certain circumstances, and negotiate payment form.
• Assist branch store sales staff and sales team in sales activities and drafting quotes.
• Respond to customer complaints by taking action to resolve the issue according to company policy.
• Serve as support staff for outside sales.
• Perform merchandising tasks, such as but not limited to labeling stock, stocking shelves, assembling machinery, conducting demonstrations, and arranging displays to enhance marketability.
• Act as back-up assistance for warehouse operations with cylinders and inventory.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and neat store appearance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Must gain and maintain product knowledge and welding expertise
• Must be successful at solving problems in a professional manner.

Education and Experience:

• A minimum education of a High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Prior experience in sales and customer service roles preferred.
• Experience and knowledge in welding and/or gas applications highly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, speak and hear.
• Frequent sitting and standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; may stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus on objects.
• Ability to occasionally lift 25 to 100lbs.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
