JOB TITLE: Business Development Manager

REPORTS TO: BD Director
FLSA STATUS: Regular Full-Time Exempt
SUMMARY: We are seeking a motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team. In this mid-level role, you will be responsible for identifying and securing government contracting opportunities that align with SABG's mission and capabilities. You will play a crucial role in expanding our client base and fostering relationships with key stakeholders in the government sector.

- Market Research: Conduct thorough research on government agencies, departments, and programs to identify potential contract opportunities.
- Relationship Building: Establish and nurture strong relationships with government clients, industry partners, and key stakeholders.
- Pipeline Management: Implement go to market strategy through supporting qualified pipeline opportunities through various stages of the procurement process, creating and tracking schedules, and reporting progress to Chief Growth Officer. Maintain up-to-date and accurate opportunity and customer information within CRM system.
- Competitive Analysis: Monitor and analyze the competitive landscape to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technical experts and proposal writers, to ensure the successful delivery of proposals and projects. Contribute to proposal reviews as part of role.
- Networking: Attend industry events, conferences, and government procurement events to expand your network and represent the company.
- Compliance: Stay informed about government regulations and compliance requirements related to government contracting.
SUPERVISION: This position has supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of relevant professional experience in business development or government contracting.
- Market Expertise: Strong knowledge of federal contracting processes and the priorities of DoD and other agencies.
- Pipeline Development: Demonstrated success in building and managing a pipeline of federal opportunities, especially within the Full and Open market space.
- Client Engagement: Experience engaging with senior government officials and federal agencies to build trusted relationships.
- Strong grasp on business development processes and the proposal development life cycle.
- Knowledge of FAR regulations and government contracting websites such as Sam.gov, GovWin, Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS), GSA eBuy, etc.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Proficient computer skills and familiarity with relevant software applications are required. Candidates must demonstrate a high level of competence in using computers and be adept at navigating various software platforms and databases relevant to the field. The ability to utilize technology effectively and efficiently is essential, and candidates should not be novices in computer usage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, beyond basic word processing skills is required. Candidates should demonstrate intermediate to advanced proficiency in utilizing the features and functionalities of these software applications. Additionally, familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and its various tools is essential.
- Experience with market intelligence software such as GovWin is preferred.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Solid understanding of basic mathematical concepts and the ability to apply them in proposal development.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to question activities and issues in all functional areas and make sound business decisions based on that data.
